Poetry, calligraphy and oil painting from a life lived between tea and Chan — gathered over many years and set down in a single bilingual volume, with prefaces by Wang Linhai and Snow-Mountain White Phoenix and English translation by Chen Shan.
“I have called it Clouds and Mist in a Cup of Tea. The title carries two meanings. The first is visual: steam gathers above the tea like mountain mist. The second lies in its spirit: all things move and change, passing before our eyes like drifting clouds — yet within that passing world there are still things worth seeing, feeling, and holding close.”
The book is also the key to the teas. Each cake it names can be found in the collection here — the book in one hand, the cup in the other.
