Fuding lies in the north-east corner of Fujian, where the mountains fall toward the East China Sea. The gardens sit at five to eight hundred metres and spend most mornings inside cloud. The leaf grows slowly here, thick with down, and China has called the county the home of white tea for generations.
West Kun, the family’s village, is known across the country as the first village of Confucius’s descendants in the south. The old gate still carries the four characters the tea house is named for.
福鼎在闽东北一隅，山势落向东海。茶园海拔五至八百米，大半个清晨泡在云里。叶子长得慢，毫密而厚，福鼎因此世称白茶之乡。
家族所在的西昆村，是江南孔裔第一村。老门楼上，仍刻着茶号得名的那四个字。
Most mornings the gardens are inside the cloud. The leaf grows slowly here, thick with down.大半个清晨，茶园在云里。叶子长得慢，毫密而厚。
The family’s retreat stands in the tea itself: a white house in the rows, a tea room hung with calligraphy, the storehouse a few steps away. It receives guests who want to see where the tea begins — to walk the gardens, sit through the withering season, drink the vintages where they rest.
Days follow the tea. Morning in the gardens or at the waterfall below the old temple mountain; unhurried meals; evenings of tea in the courtyard. In picking season, guests rise with the pickers.
家中茶院就立在茶里：茶行间一座白房子，一间挂满字的茶室，几步之外是藏茶的老屋。接待愿意溯源的客人——走茶园，看萎凋，在茶所在之处喝那些年份。
日子跟着茶走。清晨在园中或古寺山下的瀑布边，三餐从容，夜里院中吃茶。逢采茶季，客人与采茶人同起。

Spring picking (late March–April) and the White Dew autumn harvest are the living seasons; winter is the quiet one.春采（三月末至四月）与白露秋收最是热闹；冬日最静。
Every stay is built around the tea: the vintages, the withering trays, the old storehouse.每一次小住都围绕茶而设：年份茶、萎凋匾、藏茶老屋。
